A round up on the island's food news...
Mallorcan Food Fair Celebrates 20 Years
This fair, now in its 20th year, represents one of the most popular events in the Mallorcan calendar and provides a wonderful opportunity for visitors to sample a wide range of products, dishes and wines produced locally.
Over 50 participants will be exhibiting including 20 restaurants from around the island. Special features including cookery demonstrations of traditional Mallorcan dishes by various organisations including the local prison cooking school headed up by Michelin Star chef, Koldo Royo.
It takes place at Palma's Exhibition Halls, just off the Paseo Maritimo coming into the old town, and will run from March 24th through to April 2nd, 2004. For more information contact the Mallorcan Restaurant Association:

Michelin Star Chef, Marc Fosh, Cooks Mediterranean-style in Canada
Marc Fosh, of Mallorca’s latest Michelin Star restaurant, “Read’s”, has been invited by one of the world’s leading chefs, Susur Lee to cook a variety of Mediterranean dishes in his restaurant, Susur, in Toronto. New Variety of Salts - “Flor de Sal d’es Trenc”
Two local residents have teamed up to produce a new range of salt produced from their own salt flats at Mallorca’s Es Trenc National Park. The salt comes in four varieties: natural, hibiscus flowers, black olives and Mediterranean herbs, and can be found in good delicatessan’s throughout the island and now leading European outlets.
