HAY FESTIVAL COMES TO MALLORCA - TERTULIA@DEIA

International authors and artists gather in village of Deia, 27th - October 31st, 2005.

International authors and artists including Ian McEwan (Booker prize winner), Ben Sidran (jazz legend), Felipe Fernandez-Armesto (historian) and (Liverpudlian poet) Roger McGough will gather for the second literary festival in the mountain village of Deia, Mallorca next month.

The Tertulia@Deia, which was launched last year, is being organised by The Hay Festival in conjunction with co-producers Juanjo Arzubialde, Tomas Graves and Simon Finch. Its success last year has ensured that the festival will be an annual event.

The Tertulia@Deia will be a tri-lingual event and feature Catalan, English and Spanish-speaking authors and speakers as well as local art and music.

The picturesque village of Deia provides the perfect setting for this festival as it has been a source of inspiration to writers and artists for many years including the famous British romantic poet and author, Robert Graves.
