FIVE NEW HOTELS ON MALLORCA HIGHLIGHT ITS METAMORPHIS & FUTURE
Latest round up of new hotels opening on Mallorca reflect the island's new look...
This round up of new seaside, town and rural hotels opening on the island demonstrates the metamorphis of Mallorca’s hotel industry and emphasises its new innovative style, sophistication, quality and service that is maintaining the island’s lead as the Mediterranean’s top destination.
These examples also highlight the fact that local families or companies are developing existing properties or looking for existing historic buildings or old hotels to refurbish and reopen.
Hotel Ca’l Lloro Hotel, Pollensa Town
There is a charming history to this hotel, which has been completely refurbished and reopened in the heart of Pollensa on the town’s market square. It was originally opened in 1890, making it one of the oldest hotels on the island, when the current owner’s great grandfather returned from South America to settle once more on Mallorca. The hotel’s name comes from the parrot (“lloro” in Spanish) which he brought back with him from his travels, a bird which had never been seen before on the island.
Ca’l Loro is regarded as an important historic building within the town and the décor of the eight bedrooms reflect a traditional style with modern facilities. The hotel features its own restaurant with terrace, which opens up onto the market square, a roof terrace for sunbathing with great views of the mountains, a lounge/bar area and a private room for conferences, banquets and dinners.
As of June 1st, prices start from 100 euros per double room to include breakfast (excluding local tax). Reservations, tel: + 34 971 535 493 www.cal-lloro.com.
