A total of 58 Blue Flags have been awarded to Mallorca's beaches, marinas and ports this year.

Mallorca will be flying a total of 41 Blue Flags this summer over its beaches with some beaches receiving the coveted blue flag for the first time including Santa Ponsa in the south west. A further 17 flags were awarded for the island’s ports and marinas. The beaches at Porto Cristo and Muro were singled out for special distinction; Porto Cristo for its environmental education and Muro for its top beach security & life saving.

The island has 554 kms of coastline with a total of 208 beaches, the majority of which are sandy. Over 60 beaches have access for the disabled and one (Playa del Mago near Portals) is officially nudist.
