ENJOY THIS WINTER IN MALLORCA
When the summer sun and beach visitors have left and the island’s the hot summer days pass into cooler, sunny weather is when many visitors prefer to visit Mallorca and avoid the crowds. This round up includes various activities for the winter visitor to enjoy all the island has to offer.
Music at Leisure Weekends comes to La Residencia for the first time…
The successful UK based “Music at Leisure” will stage its first classical music weekend abroad at La Residencia Hotel in the picturesque mountain village setting of Deia on October 15-17th.
The concept is based on a traditional “house-party” weekend complete with black tie reception, a classical music recital each evening with, on this occasion, the award winning Carducci String Quartet and the opportunity to meet the musicians afterwards over dinner.

Son Amar – The Rock World Spectacular
Son Amar, which is regarded as one of the leading dinner shows in Europe, features an international cast comprising over 50 artists performing with a live orchestra. This winter Son Amar will present the “Rock the World” spectacular featuring acrobatic and magic acts, plus a range of dance and music from Latin America and Indian “Bollywood” to Irish Celtic dancing and Spanish ballet. One of the show’s highlights is a tribute to Michael Jackson.
Son Amar is located in the grounds of a historic 16th century mansion surrounded by orange, almond and olive groves at the foot of the Tramuntana Mountains and is only 15 minutes drive from central Palma.

Jazz Voyeur Festival
Now in its 6th year, the Jazz Voyeur Festival will bring a variety of international artists to the island this winter including the Campbell Brothers with their steel pedal guitars on October 17th, followed by “El Negro” Hernandez and his trio “Italumba”. On November 9th the New Orleans Christian Scott Quintet will play followed by the classic jazz trio; “Bad Plus” on November 10th. Veteran trumpeter, Tom Harrell and his quintet feature on November 18th followed by a jazz tribute to Chopin on December 15th with Polish pianist, Andrzej Jagodzinski. The festival closes on December 20th with the Spirit of New Orleans Gospel Choir.

New - Rural Mallorca & Wine Tour
A new half day excursion has been launched to offer winter visitors the opportunity to experience the “alternative” Mallorca. It comprises of a guided coach tour from Palma’s historic centre into one of the main wine growing areas of the island in Santa Maria and a visit to a local bodega where visitors are given a tour of the vineyard and a wine tasting with appetizers. The tour continues to Son Amar (a 16th century mansion, which was used as a working farm up until 60 years ago, is now the home of the popular dinner show) where a group of horse back riders will perform an equestrian spectacular. Guests will be served freshly squeezed orange juice from the Son Amar estate’s own orange trees. Monarch Airlines Launch New Winter Programme into Palma
with special service for cyclists
This winter Monarch Airlines will be operating three flights a week into Palma from London Gatwick and Manchester Airports on Thursday, Saturday and Sundays.
