New Jetty for Mega Cruise Liners to open this summer in Palma

This summer Palma will, for the first time, be able to welcome mega cruise ships when the new West Quay is complete. The extension of the existing port area for cruise ships is part of the 23 million euro investment announced in 2009 to enable two cruise ships of up to 380 metres long and 30 metres wide to dock at the same time on the same quay and to further encourage the “mega” cruise ships to visit the port.

Palma now ranks third as a cruising destination in the Mediterranean behind Barcelona and Civitavecchia in Italy attracting over 1 million cruise ship passengers per year.
